You decide.
$1 billion for Amtrack that hasn't turned a profit in 40 years. Stimulus or Government Control?
$50 Million for the National Endowment for the Arts. Stimulus or Government Control?
$400 Million for global-warming research. Stimulus or Government Control?
$2.4 Billion for carbon-capture DEMONSTRATION projects. Stimulus or Government Control?
$650 Million for digital TV conversion coupons. Stimulus or Government Control?
$81 Billion for medicaid. Stimulus or Government Control?
$20 Billion for food stamps. Stimulus or Government Control?
$30.3 Billion for COBRA insurance extensions. Stimulus or Government Control?
$4.2 Billion to increase SSI. Stimulus or Government Control?
$2.5 Billion increase in welfare. Stimulus or Government Control?
$1.0 Billion nutrition programs. Stimulus or Government Control?
Am I a broken record yet?? This really is ridiculous and ALL politicians are to blame! What's worse is the American people are to blame for not paying attention to what our politicians have been doing the last decade to get us here.
$66 Billion for education (that's what the entire department of education spent a decade ago). But they also included language that states NONE of the money for education can go to a single student attending a private school. So is that money for "the children" or for great control over government run schools?
The interest paid on this stimulus package, if paid off by 2020 (which will not happen) will be $347 Billion. aei-brookings.org projects the war in Iraq will actually cost around $299 Billion from October 2007- December 2015 (that's in real dollars) . Where are all the democrats that complained about the wasted money on a war we cannot win. Here we will be paying more for nothing...absolutely nothing!!
And don't forget the $600 Million to "prepare the nation for universal health care". Sounds pretty stimulating to me.

Founding Father's Dream Come True
Here it is people. Your governement at work. Finally, they are concentrating on the important things. Because you are too ignorant to take care of yourself, they are going to ensure that you don't have too much salt.
Imagine what they will be dictating to us when "they" are paying for everyone's health care. Nanny state doesn't even begin to explain it.
"Mayor Bloomberg Declares War On ... Salt
Hizzoner Calls On U.S. Manufacturers To Reduce Salt Content Until It Results In A 50 Percent Cut In 10 Years"
"City officials said that people don't realize the salt content of the things they buy in the supermarket. For example, potato chips you would think are the saltiest thing in the store but they have only 180 milligrams per serving. Turkey meatballs, on the other hand, have 660 milligrams per serving. Marble cake has 300 per serving and chicken noodle soup has nearly 1,400 milligrams of salt per serving."
"The city's plan is to get food manufacturers in the United States to agree to gradually start reducing salt content until it reaches a 50 percent cut in 10 years."

Hurray for Freedom!
This week the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched an online petition for readers to express their outrage at conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for saying last week that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail.
This week President Barack Obama "advised" congress republicans that if they wanted to "get along" with democrats they would have to stop listening to Rush.
This is how freedom dies. If you are against the Obama policies, you are a hate mongerer. Hmmm....I remember the democrats strongly opposing President Bush, calling him a liar, a war mongerer and worse but being hailed as heros who won't stand for a tyrannical leader. Imagine if Mr. Bush would have ever told democrats not to listen to Keith Dobberman or Air America.
Democrats have now taken the stance that Rush cannot voice his disagreements with an elected politician, but President Obama is allowed to publicly attack a private citizen. Welcome to the new America, folks.

A Toast To the Victors...
Here is an article that really pays tribute to the victors of our last election.
Dec. 8, 2008
An editorial from the London Daily Mail
Obama's Victory
A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.
A victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion.
Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.
A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.
A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.
Congratulations America!

New Music
Just thought I'd pass on a new album to check out. Thriving Ivory. Check it out on Itunes especially "Angels on the Moon" and "Twilight".
New Shows - 1/15 to 1/22
There are a few shows that I see as must see tv and a fee others that I watch because I'm too lazy to do anything else.
Hillary Swank is NOT hot.
The Best tv this week was of course the smack down my Arizona Cardinals put on the Eagles.
24's return reminds me of all the reasons I stopped watching in the first place. Is anyone else excited to see that that annoying FBI agent may die, but at the same time disappointed knowing that she probably wont? She is the only character that could trump Tony Almeida's constant scowl and the childish dialogue. But the storyline is pretty intriguing, so I'm sure I'll be complaining about it more in the future.
Yo Gabba Gabba taught a compelling story of how baby teeth fall out. This type of education is the key to our societies future. The way they take a simple message and stick it to a completely unforgettable tune that sounds like the Black Russian Gay leader of the pack must have scratched out with his finger nails on a chalkboard.
Battlestar Galactica is basically the end all be all as far as I'm concerned, but I have been a little peeved that we had to wait 7 months to see the second half of season four. I love the show. I love the characters - flawed humans that can show their brilliance and honor when called upon (Baltar is by far the greatest character and one of the best ever on tv). However I am very disappointed in the revelation of the final skin job. Helen is the worst character on the show. Not only is she a skanky, nasty, but she's offered nothing to the show other than being one and nastiest of Tigh's demons. I guess I'll have to watch the remaining 9 episodes to try and figure out why the worst developed and worst character on the show was the long awaited cylon, I'm sure they have something in store.

Greatest Word of ALL Time
Here's a tribute to my favorite word. Terd.
It's the perfect word. It's quite possibly the funniest word in the english language. Go ahead, I dare you to say it out loud and not laugh. I'm laughing just thinking about Terd. Terd. You know there are many forms of terd. There's nerdy terdy terds, hot terds, smelly terds, "how did that terd come out of me" terds, sheep terds, goat terds, you're a terd, happy terds, corn terds, Ahhhhhhhhhh relief terds, who gives a terd, constipated terds, hersey terds, wet terds, yellow-green baby terds, "I'll have another" terds...
Terd, terd, terd, terd is the word. Oh well everybody knows that terd is the word.
You can say "he's a terd" and be joking or serious. You can drop a terd, leave a terd, give a terd and fondle a terd. But you can't have terd and eat it too.
Terd.

At It For Reals
So...what do you say to start off the greatest fact finding mission of your life. I finally realized that I the world wide web is missing one very important thing. Me. As a selfless person, I've decided to dedicate a small portion of my life to you. Your welcome. I'm sure you are all jumping for joy, probably on the brink of tears. For too long the far right leaning, capitalistic, religious zelot, sell your momma to earn a $40 million dollar bonus for driving our country into the ground elite have had all the fun. Well, I'm here to fight back. I like to think of this as a safe haven for all those who love government and all it can do for you. I believe, as the wisest of all stated, the problem with the constitution is that it is a document of negative rights. It only states what the government can't do. That's a fundamental flaw. WE THE PEOPLE, need a document FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE GOVERNEMENT. So, my main goal will to bring you the truth that is being covered up by all the right wing agenda media, from Rush to Fox News and the occasional story on CNN that makes a Democrat look like maybe they might be a little somewhat corrupt. Well the buck stops here, this is the vessel of truth. So, put your tray tables and seats in the upright and locked position, we're heading straight into the storm.
Election Done Correct
It's nice to see that occasionally election results are correct. The United States of America can finally prove to the world that we do hold fair and honest elections. I think most of you realize (unless you are also a Global Warming, moon landing and Holocaust denier) that America's record and image in the world has been tainted by our unjust selections by bias appointed judges. The debauchery of the 2000 "election" where one candidate was selected by a court appointed by his daddy, was well documented and unbias by HBO (see Recount.) It illustrates that even Bush's camp knew he lost and would stop at nothing to stop the recounts that would prove Al Gore the real President (but don't get me started - beginning with no 911 conspiracy to start a war - I'll post on the truth of this another time.)
Hope has once again been restored. The election of Barack Obama proves that elections are once again tamper free (although I'm sure Republicans tried, it's just that Democrats are now equip to fight the election corruption). But there is another election that has proven beyond doubt that elections can be fair and honest and has finally been rectified and set right. I'm of course referring to the election of Senator Al Franken.
Thanks to the heavy democrat influence within a few select counties, this recount was done correctly. Republicans thought they had it all sealed up on election night. winning by 250 votes, but now the fact is that Senator Franken won by 250 votes. The Republican party was responsible for "losing" many ballots that were for Franken, but Franken's crack team was able to find them wherever Republicans tried to discard them.
Yes, there were some discrepancies found in ballots cast for Franken, but one of his lawyers shed light on the situation to explain why errors made by democrat voters should be ignored and errors on ballots made by Republican voters should render the ballot ineligible. Bill Starr stated "People who voted for Coleman are more likely to have taken the SAT in their lifetime, they've filled in circles. Franken voters are probably not college-educated. They're new voters and immigrants. They've been brought in by groups like ACORN, from the inner cities. They're more likely to make mistakes. I've bounced this off of minority people, and they agree with me." (http://www.minnpost.com/stories/2008/11/19/4728/lights_camera_senate_recount_national_and_local_media_brighten_minneapolis_vote-tabulation_scene)
So here's to you Senator Franken. I guess after all you and your team of lawyers were "Smart enough, good enough and gosh darn it, the people of Minnesota like you." That was oozing with cheesy goodness. So, here's to getting elections right, no matter how many lawyers it takes!
